ARTWORK IN GENERAL
All the art work you see on my site is original.
My paintings are primarily from my travels. Some are painted on location, others are from photos and still others are out of my head. Regardless of the venue I try to paint with feeling and a passion. I trust you will see this.
My style is contemporary, impressionistic and sometimes fairly realistic. I try to paint in the style that will best convey my interpretation of what I see in reality or in my minds eye.
Oil paintings are sold either: unframed ready for hanging or framed in a heavy wood frame. Watercolors are with or without a mat, plexiglass and frame. Cost of oil painting includes cost of the frame if it is already framed. Shipping of oil paintings is at buyers expense. Watercolor paintings are priced unframed. Shipping of watercolors is $5.00 for shipping in the US.

If you would like to take a painting home to see if it fits in with your decor that can be done with a deposit.
COMMISSIONS:
If you have a particular subject you would like painted – I do commissioned paintings. They vary in cost depending on the size of the painting, the subject and the medium. Call me and we can discuss what you are looking for. About 30% of my business comes from commissions.
If you are looking for a large oil painting I will normally paint one or two quick watercolors and send them to you digitally for feedback. After you critique these two sketches I will paint an oil, based on your feedback. When I think the painting is 75% completed I will send you a digital photo of it or you can visit my studio and make comments. I will then make changes to the painting. To start the process I ask for a 50% deposit on the final estimated cost of the painting. Shipping is at the buyers expense. I have painted commissioned oil painting ranging in size from 9x12 to up to 60x60.
If you commission a watercolor my method differs based on the price and size of the painting. If for instance you want your dog painted this is normally a 13x21 inch watercolor and the cost is usually $400-$450. First, I would ask you to send me several photos. Together we would choose a photo or use several of them to base the painting on. I would then do the painting and either send you a photo or you can visit my studio. Lastly, I would mat it so it would be ready for you to frame.
If you want a larger watercolor painting I generally follow the same process that I use for an oil painting.
